I'm still struggling with myself to figure out which speaker i would be happiest with, so instead of going loud or ultra high efficiency, which speaker would have the most character in its tone before distortion?
I was thinking of something low wattage, like a 25 watt C12N type jensen(but by weber). I'm not looking for something that crunches like a celestion, just something clear that could get that 'whiney' strat neck pickup tone out without a problem, if you know what i mean. The most BF fenderish speaker that you could think of...
the old alnico blues and jensens that ive heard sound amazing clean but start to break up pretty early
yeah....hmmm.....I was thinking about something.
Could 4 10 inch speakers fit in a 2x12 cab?
i already have a 2x12 baffle, and a 1x15 inch baffle that both fit my open back cab. The primary purpose for this was to be an extension cab for my DRRI, and/ or sound reinforcement. So i could hook up my DRRI to one of the cab's 12 inch 8 ohm speakers, along with the speaker that's currently in the DRRI for a total of 4 ohms, leaving me with one more 12 inch speaker that i could run with my bandmaster head in stereo.....
Or i could just get 1 good 15 inch speaker at 4 ohms to run with my bandmaster. I think that this would be the best route-stratgt;DRRI daisy chained to blonde bandmaster with 1x15 inch speaker.
let me rephrase the question-which speaker yields the most distinct 'color'?
Like how would a alnico blue and a weber silver bell (pre-ceramic marshall sound) 12'' inch in a 2x12 cab sound?
