I dig my Zvex Fuzz Factory, but was thinking of adding another pedal to the collection. Anyone have any recommendations?
By the way, money is no object. (And by quot;no objectquot; I mean anything over $400 is out of my price range.)
I use a T.Rex Mudhoney. It's got a button on it to use it as an OD or a big, tight, sludgy, river of mud Fuzz. If you're already using a lead channel, then you kick on the Mudhoney, you've got a big fat syrupy lead tone that is infinite sustain. You can hold a note indefinitely until it falls into perfect feedback. It's a killer pedal.
The coolest fuzz pedal I've ever played with is a Z. Vex Fuzz Probe. You control the intensity of the fuzz by hovering your foot over the theremin panel. It's so killer, I want one really bad!
I haven't messed with a Duncan Tweak Fuzz, but I'm sure others will fill you in. I need to find a place to hear one.
I really like the Dunlop's version of the Fuzz Face. It works perfect for my setup!
I have a Roger Mayer Axis Fuzz that is amazing. I also have a DeArmond Square Wave from the 60's that's pretty cool as well. Lately I have really been GASsing for a Fulltone fuzz/octave. But I have to be honest, my new Tweak Fuzz is a fantastic pedal...as a general rule Fuzz Tones have 2 sounds...fuzzy and off. the TF is very useable, and at less that $100.00 that leaves you around 300 to do something else with!
I posted a review of the TF after I got it on the forum...do a search and you'll find it.
I have an Analog Man NKT-275 Fuzz Face arriving today! I'll bet you someone else's right arm that'll be my favorite fuzz pedal.

Lovepedal Karl
Sean is a true genius, and it shows. The Karl is great, and I'd also love to get his Black Beauty Balance. Also, Addrock Geranium is an excellent hi-gain germanium fuzz.
