how does the Seth Lover compare to a 59 in the bridge position? I have a 59 in my Cyclone but I think it sounds harsh in the upper mids/highs. I'm looking for something that has around the same output with a darker tone. According to the tone chart it looks like the Seth has less bass than a 59. I think the 59 in my Cyclone sounds thin so that could be a problem. However... when I listen to the clips on SD's site the Seth Lover sounds much thicker/warmer.

Yes, the Seth is warmer with roughly the same output. The pronounced mids make it sound fatter than the 59. If you want more of that, you should consider the CC in the bridge. It is not that stronger than the 59 or CC, but it's considerably fatter. However, the CC can be a bit quot;barkyquot; if played clean.

If your playing predominantly clean/semi-distorted, I'd take a Seth. If you use a bit more gain on the bridge, I'd go for a CC.

Having said that, I must say that the Seth with the treble cut off sounds really fat and warm.

What guitar are you planning to install the pickup? What music do you play?

I'd be replacing the 59 in my Cyclone with a Seth.
I play everything from pop to metal but I want to dedicate this guitar to vintage tones only. how does the seth clean up? will it give me feedback problems at medium gain settings?

do you know of any single coils that would be a good match?

I was concerned about the unpotted Seth creating feedback on highgain lead tones, but surprisingly it doesn't. At the factory, I saw that they use a clamp to put the covers on really tight when soldering them. My favorite bridge pickups are the C-5, Seth, and CC.
