hmmm...

yeah i would get that if:

1) i had the money
2) i had any reason to buy a 100w amp besides it being an awesome collectors piece

but that is cool as hell. props to whoever does win that

I saw that as well. Hard to authenticate, but cool none the less. 10k is a little too pricey. If that was the real deal quot;brown soundquot; amp, Edward would probably be all over it. You watch...he may file an injunction to have the auction stopped...knowing Edward, even though the guy offers to sell it back to him.

that's not the magic marshall...that's just a touring amp...cool nonetheless if it's real

It would be awesome if it was the real deal. I'd be careful, though, and it is out of my range anyway.

ha thats actually kinda funny how its *no reserve* but the starting bid it 5,000... lol

Wallingford, CT is literally a half an hour from where I live, and very close to a Sam Ash, Guitar Center, and Daddy's Junky Music. I wouldn't be surprised if it was complete BS, and this guy found it for cheap at Daddy's (they have tons of used gear in the northeast) and is relisting it trying to cash in.

Cool amp. I'd love to plug into it for awhile.

This area has a lot of those treasures floating around, since the Valley is chock full of guitar players. I had a heavily modded 72 Superbass for a few years. I took it into a local tech, who had his name all over the chassis, and asked him about it. He couldn't believe I owned it, because he said it was one of those local holy grails that's been passed around by famous producers and used on albums like Cult's Sonic Temple and the Metallica Black album, and several others like Enuff Z Nuff. He was startled that I told him I bought it for $525 from a crackhead, because he said it was a mint 72 with about $2000 worth of mods by him. He even knew the famous crackhead that sold it to me, and confirmed that he'd even worked on it for him! he he

What happened to that amp? You sell it?

Yeah, you'd need Ed or a tech to authenticate it, but I see no reason why it's no the real deal. Even if it was just a touring amp, it's still a cool piece.

That amp is probably what the guy says it is, although I'd wanna know for sure before plunking down that kinda cash.......not that I would.

The amp I had was my main amp for about 2 years, then I sold it to help fund my Bogneritis. I paid $525, added 70 dollars worth of new tubes, and sold it for $1800.
I wish I had it back. It was the heaviest sounding vintage Marshall I've ever heard, and was modded with a footswitch, that toggles between stock tone and Metallica Black album tone. It was a real crusher.....it had two extra pre tubes installed.
