my new gibby les paul is ready to paint. it's either gonna be natural with red bullseye (like zakks standard) or strp-o-flage, (like the dimebag model from musicians friend, camo with the black parts being silohettes of strippers) you decide, vote now ya bastuds.

If its only those two options, go Strip-o-flage

i dont think the strip-o-flage would work as well on an LP.....i think LP's with a graphic finish needs to have a circular pattern, so my vote is bullseye. a cool idea might be to do the bullseye, but get something stripper related from from : localhost/ my idea is get the bullseye, then either get a metal mudflap girl cutout and fix it to the body, like behind the stopbar, or get a metal pickguard, but have the mudflap girl shape cut out of it, so it shows through to the body in that shape. you can interchange mudflap girl with stripper silouette, im just biased towards the mudflap chicks cause i have a peavey XXX, and thats like the XXX's symbol

i was just looking at their site, i didnt realize they could do this too- cut into the pickguard but not all the way through, and fill it in with black
i sort of like the idea of cutting all the way out so you could see through it, although i couln't find the one for a paul, can you post a link for me please

This thread is just a goldmine of original ideas for customization.....

Seriously...this place has been a wealth of great ideas and concepts. I've seen some amazing custom guitars created from folks in here. Why not let the reins out a bit and solicit something unique and interesting and original?

the way sharp concepts works is that pretty much everything is custom done. you didnt see an LP pickguard with a trucker girl cutout on the site cause nobody else has done one yet. all the stuff you see on the site is just samples of things theyve already done, so you arent limited to getting only stuff that they have pics of on the site. send em an email about getting an LP pickguard with the chick cut out of it, im sure theyll tell you it wouldnt be a problem.

Dude I don't want to butt in, but Skarekrough didn't say anything mean at all, he was being serious, just suggesting that you do your own thing with it instead of doing something that other people have already done.

by the way, i think it's gonna be the bullseye, with the gaurd ex-250 recomended. i will try to get some pics up when its done.

This sounds like a cool project. Can't wait to see the pics.

Good luck with the sobriety. You can do it. I quit smoking and am almost at 1 month. It ain't easy but being healthy is a good motivation....and also more money saved for gear here and there rather than buying something that's gonna kill me later.

thats the truth, in the last 2 months since i've quit drinkin, i have been able to afford a strat(which i just got finished customizing), a gibby les paul, 2 martin hd-28's (although one was a gift) 9 new pedals for my board, a peavey 1x12 combo and a crate excaliber half stack. it has amazed me how much extra money i've had these last couple of months, when before everything i owned stayed in pawn shops for booze money.

Awesome. 2 months is great, man. I wish I could buy all that stuff too. We're building a house so my spending sprees are limited to strings and maybe a few parts for my DIY effect projects. I am getting a Custom Custom for my les paul when I hit the one month mark. Can't wait until the house is done though. I'll have a 390 sq ft room upstairs for my gear and computers. Hmmm, might need more gear to fill it up..
