Hey all, ive found that MF doesnt sell DR 12s with a plain G string, so what do you recommend as a set for 12- 50 to 52, thats either nickel plated or nickel wound, and has a plain G string, for a nice fat SRV kinda sound, that i could find on MF?

Thanks-
Alex

Im not sure but you might wanna stick to just 11's the 12's could really screw up your hand at your age and cause some serious pain, alot of players have to switch to lighter gauges later on so id just be careful if were you.

If you are switching from a lighter guage, say 10's, go to 11's first and then step up to 12's gradually. As to what string guage to use, I'd recommend just getting the DR's in 12's with the wound G and buyng an extra plain string in the guage you need to replace the G. You're bound to run into less headaches that way.
