whats the difference between a 24 and 22 fret guitar?

Ummmmmm..........................2 frets???????

Check out this link:
from : localhost/if I dont agree with all of his opinions, I think he is pretty much on the spot here.

there will be 2 more frets set on the neck the neck is longer , but they will come extra in the back the calculation of the frets stay the same . So the neck pick-up will be a littlebit more to the bridge , so that is why a 22 neck has mostly a warmer sound when you use the neck pickup .

But the feel will be the same

this will help
24 vs. 22

thanks now i know the difference.

the neck will not be longer. The extra two frets go toward toward the bridge of the guitar, pushing the neck pickup back, not extend the neck.

I have a custom handmade 24 fret guitar

the neck end goes diagonal at the end so it is a 22 at the low E and 24 at the high E

My neck pick up is also placed diagonal so that I keep the warm tone of the low strings
