Last night I decided to swap the bridge pickup in my American Series Telecaster with a Jerry Donahue model.
I did a clip before I took the guitar apart with the Fender pickup:
from : localhost/this morning after having burned myself a few time soldering, I did a clip with the JD with exactly the same POD settings.
from : localhost/think there is a difference. Do you?
i do hear a difference......hard to put into words though

How do they compare to your JD pickup?
Is the difference that difficult to hear?
Nobody's voting....
Seemed to me that the Fender was a bit brighter, maybe a bit thinner sound. The JD was fatter. I'll vote the JD, but that's really only personal pref. I know a lot of people would love that brighter Fender pickup.

I have a JD that will be going in my project Tele!!
Ahh, the wonderful sounds of an A2 bridge pickup. That's what I love about the JD. I'm still debating between the JD or Fralin Blues Special for my Tele project.

JD...sounds good.Me pickup..you guitar...let's play
I guess you guys feel the same way I do.
I found the Fender pickup a bit too centered on the high spectrum with very little bass and mids. I didn't mind the highs but I really missed the bass and mids.
The JD has made me happy now.
As soon as I get a chance I'll do some JD recordings...it sounds even better with some mild overdrive and does some mean Led Zeppelin riffs when my amp is cranked up.
