Any info on this pickup would be great! ie. What magnets, what type of sound does it produce, etc.

is it really a seymour duncan? (how do you recognise if it is?)

Also, would it have 4 conductor wire?

The quot;Jazz/Bluesquot; is the JB model and it comes with 4-conductor. That one is 2-conductor and is nowhere near the JB DC resistance.

The JB Model is nice, yes, and is one of my favorites.

As for this one up for auction, it's DC resistance of 7.2k (I hope that's what is meant rather than 7.2ohms) is actually what the Seth Lover neck model is but this one looks a big aged for it to be that. It's hard to say what it is without seeing any markings on the bottom of it, if there are any at all.

I'd try to get more info from the seller and possibly a picture of the baseplate.

That pickup is a '59, the metal leads plus no seymour duncan marking on the pickup is a dead giveaway. Oh, and the vintage style tape on the pickup. The seller is obviously a moron.

Could possibly be a Alnico II Pro also or an uncovered Seth, but I'd bet quot;59quot;

With that sticker it looks to be a Jazz neck rather than a '59.

Jazz pickups aren't made like that. I'm 99.9% sure it's a '59.

If it was a '59 the sticker would have 59 on it. I looked at the label chart in the FAQ. The closest one is the Jazz.

JMN is an old old jazz model neck AFAIK.. i have a double cream one!

So with a J/MN sticker on an unmarked backplate reading 7.2k you believe it's a '59. Were the first runs of Jazz models 2 conductor or 4 conductor? I think that DC reading is too low to be a '59. From that reading it has to be a neck pickup.

I thought it stood for Jeff Beck.

yeah I believe it's a '59n. I could be wrong though. But all arrows point to that. It's unfortunate the seller doesn't know what they are selling.
