Hey people. I have been admiring John Mayer's gear at amp; elsewhere amp; cam across this photo of his set up, but with the speakers facing the camera (see below).
It would appear he stocks said cabs with the following Jesnen Speakers:
So, I have a speaker a with ceramic magnet and four with Alnico magnets, so it's obvious that i'm partial, but I am also very interested in the Neodymium, especially as I will likely pick up my FIRST lt;50 watt amplifier!
Okay, long story short, has anyone tried the Jensen Neo? If so, how does it compare to other guitar speakers on the market (I only know of the Celestion Neo).
As always, thanks in advance, you people rule!

I'm curious about those as well.

I did some research on the Celestion Neos. They have two models - the G12 Century and the Century Vintage. Of the two, I know that the G12 has extremely high power handling before it breaks up, but is also a very bright speaker. The Vintage sounds very similar to a V30, and has a similar power rating as well. They are both very expensive for speakers at about $110.00 street.

I don't know how they compare to the Jensens. If I'm not mistaken, Eminence has a Neo line as well, but I don't know how suited they are for guitar enclosures.EDIT: Woops! Forgot I was supposed to be trolling. Ok: F*ck U Jensens suck mayer is a big fag and U polly cant play PWNED!!!11!!11
I use Celestion Century Vintage in my two combo amps. I love'em.

I played my '54 tweed Deluxe through a few different 12quot; speakers in 1x12 open back cabs, and I thought the Jensen Neo 12 was fantastic. It killed the P12Q RI with my amp, and seemed to have a better balance for the tweed Deluxe than the Cannabis Rex I tried at the same time. the Neo 12 has avery full and warm tone -- and it was loud! That speaker would make my old 5D3 Deluxe giggable, but I haven't decided yet whether it will work as well as a P12R for recording at more modest levels. I'll get around to testing it some more in a month or so.
