is there a difference in colour? epi offers em both.
I would assume ebony would either be clearcoated , black stained wood, or maybe more of an ultradark grey.....But I have no Idea how they really look next to each other.
Try to find a guitar shop that has both, and put them next to each other.....
I wouldn´t recommen buying a guitar by looks anyhow
I always thought quot;ebonyquot; was a fancy word for black.

My Gibson SG Standard is called ebony, and it is black and nothing else.
Maybe quot;blackquot; is a satin finish or something and ebony is the normal black?
According to dictionary.com, one definition of ebony is quot;Black in color.quot; I bet that manufacturers use quot;ebonyquot; rather than quot;blackquot; because quot;blackquot; is not an exotic, expensive wood, and doesn't sound as fancy.

i disagree. If it looks cool, it usually is cool.

the things gotta look the part too!
Maybe one color is glossy and the other is satin??
