I really want to mod that pedal. It sounds great as it is and i only know it can get better. What is the best approach i should take in doing this. Who should i have do it, or should i do it by myself?

Do a search under quot;stratdeluxer modsquot; and read the reviews.... Don't forget to check the prices on other people's mods...It isn't rocket science, but you still need to know what you're doing and where to make the cool changes..I think reading reviews would help you make a decision though.
PM me for any furthers,prices,etc...

AnAlOgMan make a fare one.
Basically, all of these modifications use the best components and make slight changes to the tonal circuit that ends with a much better tonal sounding pedal.
One of these days, I WILL send my pedal to John for mods...
I have to relieve my axe GAS first, however.
Yes, mod it.
John modded my TS9DX about 9 months ago.
Now, it's important to mention that before I sent it off to him I really didn't like the sound of it at all. When I got it back it sounded totally different to me. I really liked the sound of it, but it was something that was totally different sounding than when it went out.
As much as I like Johns work I think it would be prudent to mention that if you like the pedal the way it is, then making mods would obviously change things on it. There's always the potential that you don't like the results, even though his track record is as successful as it is.
It's just something to keep in mind. I personally wouldn't hesitate to send him a pedal to mod, and I'll probably be doing that in the near future. But I'm doing so to a pedal I already own a backup of already.

But I'm doing so to a pedal I already own a backup of already.Good points and very valid also...Basically the mods are to enhance the thin tone a TS has when you engage it...I always hated that I'd lose so much lowend when I stomped on my Tube Screamers...After that, the mods increase high drive setting gain, trim some of that horrible midrange peak, give the pedal more sustain, and a warmer, fuller, overall quieter tone...I don't change quot;alotquot; about the actual circuit, but it makes a difference that I feel is much better than any of the stock Tube Screamers, but that's only what I Like?
Don't hesitate! Send it to John NOW! I couldn't be happier with the mod he did to my Sparkle Drive. I hate to sound pushy, but hey I'm from Jersey so quot;forgetaboutit an send the ting out!quot; Nice to see you John!
