I was looking the the Voodoo web site and I saw that they modified the TSL models. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with any Voodoo mods.
Also, the price of the mod is $395, but they also recomend a new transformer, and sometimes other stuff. I'd also like to know from the people who have had this mod what kind of final price they paid. Also, with shipping.
I'm interested in the mod, and I'm actually leaning twords it, but I'd like to hear some real life accounts from some of you guys if you have a voodoo.
Thanks,
I know both Jeremy and chcjunior have had Voodoo Mods done on their amps. Jeremy had a Marshall done I believe, and chcjunior had a Soldano Hot Rod 50 done. I looked at having trace mod my JCM 800, but ultimately went with Jeff Seal. Voodoo has a great reputation, and I don't think you would be dissapointed. There are 3 amp modders that I would highly recommend:
Jeff Seal
Scott Splawn at Splawn Guitars
Trace at Voodoo
I'm sure the others will chime in soon.

Have a web site for these guys off hand?
Also, what did Jeff Seal do for your amp and how/what do you think about it?
Trace seems to be a very nice guy who knows his stuff for sure...everyone i spoke to about him and his work at voodoo had nothing but great things to say!! he posts on here now and again so maybe he will see this thread. i want to have one or two of my heads modded by him but i just have so many other things going on that i never get around to it or i don't have the $ when i have the time to let the amp(s) go...eventually he will get one or two amps from me!

Jeff Seal - The pics of the amp on his site are the actual pics of the guts of my amp! Nice work.
Splawn Guitars - the 3 I mentioned, the Voodoo mod is the least intrusive in terms of leaving the circuity of the amp intact. Both Splawn and Jeff Seal basically completely strip the existing circuit board and build a point to point board in it's place. You still have the original circuit board, so if you desired you could put it back to stock.
Jeff took out my circuit board, and built a clean and dirty channel around the specs I was looking for. Fender like cleans, and OD tones ranging from AC/DC on the low settings, to Plexi tones on the mid setting, to a 2204 at full roar with the gain dimed. I am really, really happy with what Jeff did for me. He took an amp with an average at best clean channel, and made it sparkle with depth and clarity. The overdrive is very responsive. I've got a bright switch on the clean channel, a push pull on the od channel that takes the volume way down, but still retains clarity, for low volume practice or recording. I also have a push pull that will take me into the gain level of a TSL....but I get the noise associated with that level of gain, so I don't use it much. Awsome, awsome results.
No holes drilled in the chassis, looks the same from the outside. Scott Splawn is now focusing more on building his own amps from scratch, but still does mods to the best of my knowledge. His shop is about 30 miles from my house, and I was impressed when I visited the shop.
Hope this helps.
I got my Soldano modded by Trace and Anthony at Voodoo Amps. I decided to enjoy the fall weather last year by taking a trip up to Ithaca. My mods included a depth control for the XL option....then I went with a slightly more Marshallesque tone on the gain channel. I'm extremely happy with the mods.
Cool, I was seriously thinking about it, but I think I'll save up to get the transformer also, they recommend.
