Hi dudes...
i´ve been trying diferent sets of duncans this time around with the hope i could find the pup i always wanted...
i´ve tried this sets: Distortion bridge/Jazz neck PATB-2 bridge/Jazz neck Distortion brigde/Full Shred neck PATB-2 bridge/Full Shred neck
(btw i´ve tried them with my Xplorer on a Triple rectifier, at my local store)
so...yes, i want the guitar to be oriented to metal...xD so i´ve been last month trying them...and the winner was the PATB-2/Full Shred
the only thing people would blame is the looks of the trembucker...but i at least don´t care...i like the looks also...but the thing is that, this pup is really hot, in the way of a dimebucker...i cant assure this but i think is hotter than the dimebucker also...about the eq is just betwen a jb and a distortion... with a heavy guitar like the xplorer it suits perfect...not harsh, not bright...articulate, it´s impossibe not to take armonics out of them...
it´s IMO the ultimate rhythm pup for heavy mahogany axes
it combines well with both Jazz/Full Shred at the neck...i haven´t tried more pups at the neck to make a comparison...but i liked more the full shred cause when you turn the volume and the gain up...the jazz tends to loss articulation and there´s just where the full shred wins...for metal tones its is way better imo...
btw decent cleans with the patb-2 (although i don´t use the bridge pup to play clean) and good cleans with the full shred
the set is very metal oriented...but if you´re looking for that...i recomend it to anyone
hope to post pics/clips as soon as possible
have a nice day guys
kickass. how is it compared to the DD (like an EQ comparison)?
it has less highs and it´s a little more scooped also... same low eq... both share a lot of output, but the patb-2 is hotter... best harmonics and overtones i´ve heard... i´ve had no problems with feedback (at least the time i were trying it...but if there was no problems with feedback using a triple recto...enough said)... so its like a hotter DD with less brigthness...if you look at the pdf at the web its eq is very very close to a JB model, but a lot more agressive because of the ceramic...
try both using the return policy, but i think you will be pleased with this one
