how do they sound in mahogany bodies w/ mahogany or maple necks?
I have one in the bridge of a strat style guitar mahogany body, maple neck with ebony fingerboard. It's bright and gritty sounding. I have debated replacing it but I don't know with what?

From the description, it sounds like it would be too bright in the bridge of most guitars.
I bought one not long ago for a neck pup in my Firebird and have just not had the guts to put it in..that and a Super D for the bridge.......
