Not sure if any of you remember when I first posted this idea back in May or not. I had the pleasure of being able to help coordinate seeing this get done in a limited run of 16 guitars 1 Prototype using Dean's Korean made '79 Series Z as a base.
Mine is the prototype, the one in the upper middle spot. It has a little more yellow to it than the fresh ones. These were literally fresh of fthe boat by a week or so. I am contemplating a set of P90 Antiquities for Victoria.
Life IS Good!
SWEET! Nice looking axe bro.
I'm not a big fan of the Dean headstock, but it's very cool that you were able to be involved in the creation of an interesting limited run like that -- and to get the prototype to boot! Congrats!
Those are cool looking! What are the specs that make them quot;Limitedquot;?
Also, what do you mean off the boat? Were you being literal? Where are they made?
GS
Awesome!
Limited Run specs: Natural finish, binding to headstock, P90 pickups, and block inlays. They are made in Korea using Dean's '79 series Z as a base model. I get mine tonight.
Very cool guitars.
What a great lil rawk machine!!! Still undecided about pickups. These are comparable to the Duncan in my Schulte LP JR. I have. Loud on 10 and sweet in the mid volume settings. The neck pickup is snappy and quot;Santanaquot; like with my 10 watt Vox Brian May through a 4x12 Mesa cabinet. YUMMY!!!
Found out it came with Epiphone P90s. They sounded very tasty too but.......Duncan 2N and 3B P90 pickups from a '96 Hamer Archtop Goldtop being put in this weekend.
Cant wait. Those look very nice. I love the natural finish and p90s on a explorer are just something different. It looks very modern, but has a classic tone.
gorgeous! I remember this thread
Thot of slapping some creme rings and a couple minis in it??
Funny you should ask. I got the Duncans from fellow Dean, Hamer, and Duncan board member Badjaxx. He put Dimarzio Minis in His P90 Z
It looks sweet. I thought they were Duncan minis.
Hope he doesn't mind I posted this. :6:

DAMN that is nice. Wow.... Absolutely stunning.
Mini buckers in P-90 routes?
That raises a question. I've always wanted to try mini hums and I finaly have a P-90 guitar.
Is there any way I could try them without bastardizing the guitar?

Why, certainly! Allparts, for one, offers these:IIRC, Badjaxx had to have a lil work done to fully install them. I'm having to have my routes opened a lil deeper to fit the Duncans. Duncans are taller than the Epiphones were. Mine came with Epis in it because it was the prototype of the run.
Epi on the left, Duncan on the right
There is one of these P90 Zs for sale I think. I'll get back to ya'll on that.
Dayum......that's a killer lookin guitar
Finally got my guitar back. I am a Duncan user for life!!!! The Duncan P90s are to sweet!!!
Bump just to kick up my appreciation for some great Tones!!!!
Beautiful guitar.
I lt;3 P90s. I lt;3 Modern Shapes... I want one
