Well, I graduate today. It's kind of exciting and kind of depressing at the same time. I know I'm never going to see some of these people again and it saddens me. But i was just curious, who else is graduating this year? What are your plans for college? Is music going to be your goal or not? I'm going to UNH and will reapply for their music program for the next year, I unfortunately did not get in the first time. However, I know I'm going to face many disapointments if I chose music as a career and I just gotaa roll with the punches. So, how about anyone else? Anyone going to UNH by some slim chance?
This should maybe go in the off topic section .
I was seriously considering going to school for music, but then I realized that if you take that path, you have to rely on people's musical tastes as a means for your own survival. Music is an art form, and if people don't like your interpretation, you're ****ed. I'm not the kind of person who would be able to change what I produce just to suit somebody else's tastes, and the music industry is so saturated with new artists that it's hard for even amazing artists to get any attention. I love to do music in my spare time, but I think it's too shaky a road to spend all kinds of money and time getting a post-secondary education in that field. I know too many music school graduates who are struggling just to eat.

I have to agree, if I was going to go into any type of music as a career, I'd go into production.
I do see your points, but I listen to all genres and I don't really have a problem with playing different styles and what not. I know music careers don't pay much, but I'm looking into music programs for my own benefit and pleasure. If I'm going to college, I'm going to spend my money on something I love to study, even if it doesn't opay much as a career. I'm also going to minor in some sort of area that has a wider job field too, though.
I'm going to go to a music school for one year, and see if I want to continue with it.
im graduating on wednesday, june first. i feel the same way. im really gonna miss everyone. i made sure yesterday, my last day, i saw everyone i could.
