Hello i have been playing guitar for a year and a few months. I just recently started taking lessons i was self taught up until now. I wanted to know if anyone could give me their opinion on my try at the Crazy Train Solo. from : localhost/You

Not bad, but there are definately things to work on.

1. Vibrato - it's almost non exhistent in that solo.
2. String Muting - You have way too much excess string noise going on. Try working on your left and right hand muting techniques and clean that up as much as possible.

Some tips - Slow the solo down. Play it slow and work on hitting every note clean while throwing some vibrato in at the appropriate places. Then graduallly speed it up. This may take 2 weeks of doing the solo 20 times a day or even more, so just keep at it.

After you think you have it down, record it again at full speed and listen to the new and old solos in sequence and see the difference. Post the new one here if you want.

Well the tapping came out well. But after that it was a bit sloppy. Try holding the bends for longer and applying a bit of vibrato to them, no just bending up then down again straight away. A lot of the runs didn't come out cleanly either.

Use a metronome, start REALLY slow and work your way up with it. You'll sound like Randy in no time

Totally correct. Try to lay your right hand against the strings you aren't using to dampen them. If you are playing on the second string have your first finger on your left hand (assuming you are right handed) stick out a bit to dampen the G string.

Just like everyone else said there, Just gotta work on that vibrato and string muting.the basic playing didnt seem bad at all.
Like Rotten Guitar String said use that metronome.Its your greatest friend when trying to build speed and timing accuratly and properly!!!Nice goin tho
