this was a bit impulsive in a way, but not really, as it's been in the back of my mind ... especially since I did my last ash strat, which came out very nice, and is one of my liveliest electrics acoustically and electrically
so I saw this body at USA Custom Guitars early this morning, thought about it a while, then called Tommy
anyway, here's the body - tell me what you think:VERY light .. 3 lb., 7 oz.
the specs will be similar to an early 50s tele: Mary Kay white, maple neck (maybe a light figure), Callaham hardware, and likely a set of Antiquities
there's another body with a Mary Kay finish about half way down this page:

Peace
NICE!
I love the grain in the body...mary kay is a great choice for it...it will show off the wood very nicely!
Take lots and lots of pics!
Hey Curly, that looks great. I have an almost identical body from Tommy that I finished in butterscoth that I'm in the process of buffing. Are you going to use dark grain filler? It really makes the grain pop out under the color.

Take lots and lots of pics!I agree 100%. I don't see many Mary Kay's all that often-she'll be a beauty!

Mike,
thanks
I'm having Roxy do the finish. The strat he did came out nice - it's poly, but thin.
Plus, I have 3 projects lying around waiting because I'm doing the finish.
Nice, Curly. I've got a Tele project all spec'd out myself. Just waiting on fundage to improve before I can start it. Ash body, but painted black. Fralin blues special and Duncan hot rhythm pickups, maple neck and Callaham hardware as well.
Please share pics of it when it's done.
Your name is Curly, and you like teles? Nice body!
I have a similar looking chunk of wood on one of my teles.its right off the same tree as Roy Buchanans!
Very nice, I can't wait to see how she turns out!
