Thinking about trying one out on my Kramer. Anyone have any experience with them?

Matt

Make sure your Floyd is non-floating, or you have a REALLY large routing

They work best on non-floating trems. The change in string tension on floating trems wreaks havock on tuning stability. It's a pretty cool device. Wouldn't mind one myself for my Baretta but since I don't play it very often, there's no hurry.

If your trem isn't floating, then a D-Tuna is a lifesaver! Set it up correctly, they work extremely well.

i'll be getting one for a strat next year

I have one on my snakeskin guitar:
It's a very cool device, well made, and works perfectly!

Here are some closer pics of it:

As alternative to blocking / mounting the trem for Drop only, the D-tuna also works really well with a Hipshot tremsetter.

In tat scenario you´ll almost certainly have to rout the body for clearance on up pulls, but it works great

I've had a few of them, and not one worked worth a crap. I was using it on a Kramer w/ a blocked OFR, and even set up correctly, it was either slightly flat in E or slightly sharp in D.

Not to mention, the thing that pops out to drop the tuning was so stiff that it took a rediculous amount of effort to move it. I thought something was wrong with the first one I had, but the second one did this as well.

Did you adjust it correctly??
I always gave mine a small amount of grease.
Sold it to a friend though, never used it

Thanks for the info guys!

The problem was that it was way too tight between the fine tuner and the spring. Every Wolfgang I've ever played exhibited the same problem.
