Some of you may remember this one from an earlier post I did showing the test fitting of parts.
Well after 9 months of planning and building it's just about done. Just some fret work and thats it. It plays pretty well right out of the box, but some of the frets need leveling. Sounds good too; very vintage strat like (duh) with a little more edge. Two piece Alder body, GFS vintage premium pickups, hardtail bridge from Guitar Parts Resource. Wired like a Tele with 4 position switch (includes N B in series) and a push-pull switch on the tone control that turns on the middle pickup at any time. Color is Vintage Cream from Reranch.
It is far from perfect. I made alot of mistakes and some still show; but I learned alot.
I would like to thank everyone at the S D Forum for their contributions to my project. The help I received here has been invaluable; I could not have made it through with out it.
Thanks, Rob.

Nice shape and colour, but the pickguard isn't my sorta thing, well done for making your first axe, and it looks like its good quality too.
Great job, bro. That guitar looks awesome. I hope you enjoy playing it at least as much as you seem to have enjoyed building it.
That thing looks great, original... My first guitar i made was a strat shape but i didn't do the forearm or the belly cut as i wanted a tele feel..... I had a ***** of a time painting it and it turned out looking like dung... I used dyes and water based stuff from stew mac... It feels like there is wax all over the guitar....
Good job on your first!

Thats pretty good. As said above, I'm not too keen on the pickguard, but well done.
Nice! It looks like it wants to give me a hug.
Thanks for the positive comments. It was overall a good experience; for me the hardest part by far was the finishing. Sealer, primer, color, (at least two coats of each), and 12 coats of lacquer. That process seemed to go on for ever. I got it done though and I've already started to work on number two. RD.
good original project ... I like that yellow color
Scott Lentz is doing something similar, since redesigning his guitars after Fender's 'cease and desist' order.
now if u lose the pickguard thatd look great IMO
Cool!
A 'Stra-Tele'...very kool first build. I like it!
be proud man...that color is awesome!
