I thought it'd be great to have an affordable SG or V with a 60's slim neck but gibson doesn't offer either of those. then I found this beauty! it looks cooler than SG or V and it can be found under a grand with case new! WOW.

A Firebird is just not a Firebird without the mini-humbuckers IMHO.

Even with humbuckers, that bird is righteous.

I'm a sucker for white guitars, AND firebirds.

That thing is kickass.

I have an original non-reverse 68 'bird with 2 P90s. Hard to play, impossible to tune, but sounds incredible.

Dave Grohl's guitar of choice for this current tour has been a black firebird studio.

When I saw Switchfoot in concert the singer (forgot his name) used a vintage sunburst firebird, it was probably a 5 but I don't remember it too well as there were so many 12 year old girls I couldn't get close enough.

I have been Gassing for a Bird forever, amazing guitars.

I love 'em. Played a VII this past Friday. Sweetness!!! BTW...I know someone who may be selling a Studio soon. It's not white though.

I find them kind of ugly, the white looks passable though. They basically tried to make the explorer curvy and got the firebird (that's not how it really happened but that's what it looks like.)

Also I'm not sure if it's the same case but I hate how the gibson website makes their white look like alpine white when it's really classic white and is more yellowy and creamy.

Absolutely correct.It's better

I've always liked the way they look but the body is a little big for my taste. Killer looks though.

I think they look pretty cool. I like the one JeffB has.....cherry/maroon finish.

I think they would look better with a LP style headstock.
I'm definately getting one someday.

It's a set neck ? Not a neck thru? Gotta have wings if ya wanna fly like a bird. Don't mind me, Someone's got to be the Firebird snob around here. O.K. I'll admit it, It's a pretty cool guitar.

It is cool but Im with kem...no neck thru, no Firebird pickups, not a bird...at least not a real bird!

I never even noticed the no neck-thru, thats a -1 point there. I don't care too much if it has mini's or Humbuckers personally though.

The Studio is set-neck, the V and VII are neck-thru's. I love 'em all. Who cares how the neck is attached.

wait, that didn't sound right :Just look around on the net...on this most recent tour it's been 95% Black Firebird Studios...when I saw the Foo a few months ago Dave had a rack with 6 different Black Firebird Studios...

nevertheless, the firebird V has the fastest neck of any gibson I've played, just insane how fast it is.
