Any idea on approximate costs of replacing a truss rod in an SG?

Your left nut.

I have no Idea how to price a job like that out, But i'm aware of the labor involved in a job like that. I imagine it would take a luthier/tech a few hours to get the fret board off. I'd say your looking at atleast $300 in labor depending on his hourly rates parts.

Thanks, that's quite informative.

Considering I don't wanna have anymore kids, might not be such a bad way to go, either.

Well if i understand right they have to heat up the fingerboard and remove it..... Fix the truss rod... Then add a new Fingerboard because the old one would be wrecked by the heat to get the glue undone. My Les Paul had the same work done and it cost me $550 13 years ago and i got a real deal on the labour!!!! Tech told me he was not chargeing me everything because i had to wait for teh guitar so long.......

I think they can save the fretboard, don't know if the frets have to be worked on later. As for the price... beats me. Sorry.
