It was the first delay pedal i've ever used, still one of my favorites.

While it's not heavily laden with features, it's very useful, easy to learn, and quick to come up with some great delay settings. I like mine a lot for it's simplicity
The boss is fine for the generic delay stuff, but i'm a big fan of the electro harmonix Memory Man. Its more of a left-field sound, but its warmer and more organic than the boss pedal. Less 'clinical', though that might be what you're looking for.
i still have to say the Line6 DL4- does a lot more than just delay.
1 for the Boss DD-3. I had the Line6 DL4 but only used it for looping. Tried the newer Boss delays but they didn't sound the same!

Yeah thats another excellent pedal. I've tried the rackmount version, but not the stompbox, it was very flexable and did and infinite number of weird things.
from : localhost/pedal - true bypass, it sounds like an analog delay but with the extended time of a digital delay. loads of digital pedals claim to sound like old analog delays but just don't, this one does because it's based on an analog circuit but with slight modifications. it's the last pedal I built, and just sounds amazing.
oh and by the way, if you turn everything up on full it self oscillates, a really cool sounding feature - kindof like a very old analog synth
