Tell me about your favorite delay pedal or processor?
Do you use more than one delay pedal on your board?
Bill
Boss DD-3, sounds the best to me but maybe cause i've been using one since they came out! Better sounding then the newer models. Good for all purpose stuff.
I Like the Dan-Echo,though I Only use this pedal when I use my vintage amps...
Boss DD2,been using it since 1984.
Line 6 DL-4...there is nothing this thing can't do!
my dd2 died recently so i am delay less. im looking for another one, must have tap tempo, so keep em comin

Same here, good ol' DD-2. Still workin' like a champ. I like the delays in the Rocktron Intellifex I have too but I don't use it anymore. Saving it for the studio setup to run through the mixer loop.
I'm curious about the DeLayla.
The new issue of Guitar Player (I think) has a delay pedal shoot out.
I really like the EHX 16 second delay!
See the new Guitar Player (w. Jerry Garcia on the cover). They review several delays covering a wide range of prices.
You might be interested in the Line 6 delay pedal; they gave it an Editor's Pick award. It has tap tempo and a lot of other features.
They also gave my delay, the Rocktron Short Timer an Editor's pick, based mostly on its ridiculously low price. No tap tempo, though - just simple vintage-vibe echo.
thanks rich, i tried that line 6 pedal, but i could hear a little tick even when the pedal was off. it was in time but noticable. not sure if thats common or if the one i tried was a bad unit. anyone own this thing?
Not a huge delay fan, but my favorite is an old Washburn Analog Delay.
According to research I've done, the Line6 pedals seem to have a tendency to flake out, either mechanically or brain-wise. That tick seems to be a common annoyance.
I just ordered a Digitech XDD delay pedal. The sound samples seemed excellent, it looks well built, and it has tap tempo if you hold the switch down for 2 seconds to change modes. I'll tell you what I think when it gets here.

1 The DD3 is way better than the DD5 or any other one out there.
Never had a problem with my Line6, and it is well used...I love the looper, and the delays are great- no ticks of any kind. It makes a good chorus, overdrive and auto-wah too, if you set it right, plus it has 3 presets..mmmm
My fav delay is a Echoplex Digital Pro, although it is technically not a pedal, it comes with one. Mostly used for realtime looping, it makes a great delay with some awesome overkill features.
I've been using a few mid 90's DOD Digital delays for years... I picked them up used for $40 each years ago.... They are noisy if you plug them in front of the pre amp, they have to go in the FX loop for silent operation.... But they are 1 second delays and were cheap! I just picked up a used Ibanez Tone Lock Delay that is not bad but sounds more stale then the older DOD's.... Again i got the Ibanez for cheap! The delays i want i can't afford...... I used to have a Boss analong Delay in the 80's..... i miss it! I sold it for $20 in 1989
BYOC Analog Delay Clone
I'm curious about the DeLayla.
The Red Repeat is out...well should be very very close now.
That one and the upcoming Echotone(a seriously updated XL)
I like my old Memoryman, the Maxon 900, Chandler echo, my old Peavey rackdelay is also very nice.
After getting my Chandler Digital Echo and Line 6 Echo Pro, I have a like new DD3 that is just collecting dust. Chandler
My fave is my old Echoplex.
But I like the Boss Stereo Digital Delay Pedal too...the white one. Don't remember the model number.
I've heard good things about the Line 6 pedal but have never tried one.
Lew
Not boutique at all.. but the new BOSS DD-20 is the ideal multi-delay thingy.
Just received mine a few days ago. WOW
