I've been using some Elixir strings on my strat for the past month or so, and the coating has come off on the fretboard in places. I was wondering if there was anything I need to avoid using on the nitro finish to clean the board next time I restring. Feel free to recommend things I SHOULD use as well .
IF the finish is laquer on the FB it would be OK to just use the same polish you use on the rest of the guitar. In the case of rosewood or ebony.... I use lemon oil. Nice looking guitar.
lol I always use a normal wood clean protect stuff... dunno how it'S called.. but it keeps my rosewood fretboard just nice and slippy... Hmm that doesn't help you though cause you've got a maple neck
Yes the fretboard is lacquered as well, I guess I was *really* wondering if any guitar polish/care products on the market are BAD for nitro, so I didn't wipe the board down with something and ruin my neck
Naptha, will do a good job cleaning nitro, and it won't hurt the finish.
