of a place that sells nitro finished strat bodies for a good price?
i'd like to know too.
Worst case scenario-you'd have to buy an unfinished body and oil it down yourself.
Well, I want to do a custom thing on it, but I really dont feel like sanding and filling and priming and all that at first. I just wanna get down to the custom design. So c'mon guys, chip in!
Hey guys....The only place that I know of that still uses nitro for bodies is this place.
from : localhost/aren't cheap, but I'm sure there are some others out there that still spray nitro.
thanks 9! I'd complete forgot about Gregg Rogers.
No problem bro. Like I said though, he is pretty pricey so I would look a little more into. He's just the only one I know of off the top of my head that does it.
I'm not positive, but you might want to check B Heffner guitars as well.
Believe it or not, when I refinished my beater strat, I slapped some excellent gold paint on it, the sealed it with some nitro laquer that I bought at Lowes.

Hmmmm. $369 Minus $169 for the body= $200 for a beat up half A$$ Nitro finish. I guess you get what you pay for.
Scott, I've done many a refinish with a rattlecan from Home Depot. In fact, Slink's guitar was finished that way. I would just go out and get a cheap ass poly finished strat, but the design I'm gonna do is gonna be in nitro. I dont want the design to relic in a few years and the poly still all shiny.
Isn't nitro just the clear coat over the dyed wood?
