Hello guys,
i was just wondering what trem types you prefer.
I must say that i really dislike recessed floyd roses, they kill the tone, make tuning a *****, and when you bend a note, all the other strings go down in pitch. Anyone else feel the same way?
My weapon of choice: The bigsby horseshoe style! First, they are darn solid. Two, they feel much more responsive than other trems, they doesn't need any extra cavities in your body, and they look freakin' cool!
Your opinion?

Bigsbys or vintage Strat style. Bigsbys by far look the coolest!
Vintage synch. Fender trem. All 5 springs. I don't use the trem that much. I would block it but I use it just enough to keep from hardtails. I believe that a good floyd set up right can sound amazing if in the right hands. It just depends whose hands it is in.
Recessed Floyd. Nothing better in the trem department
That said, everyone needs at least one hardtail guitar.
I think the best one I have used was the Wilkinson. I am gonna try to use my floyd a little more on my ibanez after I am done refinishing it.
hehe.
By the way mate, how did you all of a sudden get THREE such expensive guitars? Rich parents?
Well, i have a Recessed floyd in my ibanez. I don't find it any better than a bigsby though, i could divebomb with the same fury on a Bigsby-copy equipped Ibanez artstar at the music store
(played it trough a Marshall Mode Four at full volume, don't ask of the concequences )

vintage style, 6 hole Fender trem with stamped saddles...with a proper set-up that are pretty damn stable, and with a good nut and locking keys, they can be almost as solid as a Floyd, and sound better IMO! That said...I would love to have a Las Paul with a Bigsby...hell, I would love to have a Les Paul period!
Not a big fan of trems, but the best one i've ever used is the ibanez zero trem. it stays in tune better then a floyd and it dosn't flutter as much IMO.
I prefer Gamp;L's dual fulcrum tremelo. It works well, and you don't have to mess with locking components!Sprinter

Schecter? Expensive? I've had this for about a year and a half now, and it only cost $430 .
The Dinky I bought in October, decided I didn't like it, and wanted a higher end Jackson. Picked up a loan to get an RR-1, and need to sell the Dinky to pay it off. The market for them isn't very hot right now, so after two failed eBay attempts, I'm going to wait for two or three weeks, and the relist it, after putting it back stock. That way, I can just sell the pickups, and end up getting more out of it.
I buy all of my gear though, no parent payment involved .
Fender Strat (6 screws, not that dual fulcrum crap)
5 springs =
PRS style 6-screw floating w/knife edge. Works great on my PRS and Driskill guitars.
Hey Jeff, i was just wondering, what job do you have since you can bou your own guitars without parents money???
By the way, looking at your avatar pic, i must say you have grown! Damn you look scary

-ErlendSaving, alot. I get a monthly allowance, as well as lunch money every week, but we all know where that lunch money goes . I also worked construction over the summer to pay for my amp, and I do random oddjobs for people. Walking/watching dogs, mowing lawns, washing cars, computer help, whatever gets some cash in!
Damn Jeff you've got ideas... at 16, almost 17, I wouldn't have the patience to do all that... but I should!
Oh trust me dude, AS SOON AS I turn 16, I'm getting my license and a job (that's the working/driving age around here).
Plug in work hours, get school down solid, save for a good year or so, pick up a Bogner Ecstasy .
I've said it before and I'll say it again: quot;Real men play Bigsbysquot;.
Oooooh yeah thats soo true Sgstrat.... even though you can't count me as a man yet
I think the nice thing about bigsbys are that they doesnt kill the tone of your guitar like some other trems do, and well.... they make you look soooooo cool when you divebomb 'em
Recessed Floyd (or in my case, a recessed Kahler).
I think it's been around four or five months since I've last had to tune that guitar.....
I voted non-recessed Floyd. As I get older (and more lazy it seems) I just don't have the patience for recessed Floyds. I still own 2 guitars (including a Jem) with a recessed Floyd if I just have to pull sharp. Otherwise, I am ordering all future guitars with non-recessed trems- maybe even a non-trem!! Every guitar I own presently has a Floyd of some kind. I actually prefer the Schaller Floyd to the original.
