Guys-
Making slow progress on my p90 warmoth plans and think I got the p90 circuit correct this weekend using a 5way 4 pole super switch- Can you guys confrim this will work or suggest alternatives for these combinations? This is just the p90 circuit as I need to get it right before I go to the other 5 way-
P90 Switch
1. Bridge
2. Bridge neck parallel
3. Bridge neck series
4. Bridge neck series out of phase
5. Neck

Here's a rehash on the entire project for anyone that's interested in background:

Thanks!

Uggh- They keep changing! Let's see if this one works better-

Ok, this last ones the best but just for clarfication in 4th position, the B 4th pole goes to the D common just to be clear
hey there zionstrat,
on your diagram, what do the words 'in' and 'out' mean? do they refer to in and out of phase? or something else?
sorry for the question, i puzzled it for a bit trying to figure it out but couldnt
cheers

also, where do you take the main output and where will you 'ground' it?

Good questions and sorry that this isn't either a schematic or a real wiring diagram- It's just the way that I'm thinking about this circuit because it will actually be integrated into the another 5 way switch if this works out the way I think it will go
So for this exercise think of quot;inquot; as the primary input for the circuit that will ultimately come from the tip of the amp cord so you could call it psoitive and quot;outquot; as the ground that will ultimately make it's way out the barrel of the ground plug so you could call it negitive to help me confirm that this first circuit works.-
The reason I used these terms is that this circuit will somehow integrate into another 5 way switch because at one setting on the 2nd 5 way, the entire p90 cirucit will be disabled. There is also a small chance that this 2nd circuit will flip the phase of this p90 circuit that I'm asking everyone to look at now- So for a number of reason I choose to think input and output- Does this makes sense now?
I haven't worked in vol or tone yet, but it appears that I will probably have a master tone and vol that will show up in the other circuit- If I have to do any p90 ballancing I will either have to rethink where the vol goes, or I might try trim pots to lock into prefered levels-
Thx for looking at this!
hmmm, i think i kinda understand where you are aiming to be ... i had another look at this with an eye towards what you are describing ... i think it looks ok ... as long as you can get it into the other 5-way as you intend, this part should provide the 5 things you arelooking for from the P90s
i did something that reminds me of this with my HSH guitar ... i wanted position 3 to allow me to get either the quot;squot; by itself OR combinations of the two Hs ... so i used a push/pull to determine what happens in position 3
good luck

Tone 4 days-
Bingo- Thx for confirmation and now I'll go off and see if I can possibly design the other 5 way
If you don't hear from me in the next couple of days be sure to alert the authorities to come dig me out
I'm looking this over also. In your diagram, is P2 the bridge, and P1 the neck?
btw - I've got this drawn up a bit simpler. You don't really need the quot;Aquot; switch bank. Give me a moment or two, and I'll post the diagram.
Well . . . I was gonna upload a pic, but I'm having trouble with my server.
I'll try to get this worked out soon.
Thanks Artie! Had a feeling it was a bit primitive, and I'm about ready to post the SC humbucker side which looks even worse-
thx

It wasn't bad . . . I just quot;steamlinedquot; it a bit.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to post the pic for awhile. My wbhosting server is down temporarily. Hopefully, it'll be up soon.
Ok folks-
Here's the 2nd circuit for the twin blade sc humbucker's 5 pos switch with it's settings- But as I was saving it I realized that it probably won't work because the way I am grounding out the P90's circuit in position 4, I think it will also ground out the twin blade as well- Guess I have to use the 4th pole? Still haven't figured out how to add spin a split-
SC-Twin blade's 5way switch
1. single coil that is hum complimentary to bridge P90
2. Off
3. Full SC rail with spin a split
4. P90s off, full SC rail with spin a split
5. Single coil that is hum complimentary to neck P90

Thanks again for input!
This looks like an interesting project. I'll doodle with this half too.
I just wish my server would come back online.
Thanks Artie!
Just had a duh moment when I realized the spin a split is actually quite easy- I just run the grounds that I have coming off of The C pole through a pot-
It's funny, I'm just not a very good at translating theory into diagrams- I put so much energy and effort into the p90 circuit and the dual rail circuit, had no immediate thoughts on the spin a split, and now that I step away from it, that appears to be the easiest part of the whole enchalada-
Thx all
oh yeah, in case you didn't guess, I'm pulling for your server to come back online as well
Ooops . . . wait a sec . . . one little error.
Ok . . . dumb mistake. This should do it:Not a drastic change, but trims a few wires. I oriented the drawing the way the switch would be, with the quot;redsquot; being the quot;commonsquot;. Colors that match, are connected together.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'll work on the second half.
Artie
Wow artie- That is much. much cleaner and as you said it will make it much easier to transfer to the physica switch- Thanks a bunch!
Again, no rush on 2nd circuit- I'm having fun learning along the way and thanks for sharing- you have quite a gift!
