Hi!
Last night I exchanged all the electronis in my Ibanez AK85 (hollow) and something isn't quite right. I loose all volym between 10-7 on my volumeknobs - not that gradual decrease I'm used to. This occurs for both pickups. I'm not that crazy about fishing everything out again to search for the source of this problem, since this kind of guitar isn't very quot;funquot; to work with. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction?
The schematic I used was this:

Ignore this part. I'm rethinking this answer.
It shouldn't. A linear pot will roll the volume back slower, not faster. If all your volume loss was around 2 - 3, that might be a problem.
Do you have a meter? You can simply plug in a guitar cable, select one pup, and measure the resistance at the end of the plug. (Between tip and sleeve.) It should be within approx. 5% of the pup resistance.
Hi, ArtieTwo!
Well, I just measured the pickups and they seem to have the right resistance. Also, the caps are 0.022 mf since I have no other caps at hand.
It's very possible that I may have soldered something wrong last night. But I was hoping someone could tell me what might be the most likely mistake I've made.
Thanks anyway, ArtieTwo!
No prob. This is one of those things thats hard to diagnose on a forum. Just double-check everything, and make sure you didn't fry a pot.
I may have lead you astray in my above response. It is possible that a linear pot may be causing your problem. I don't have an easy way to confirm this since I'm not at work, but you may want to try replacing the volume pot.
Sorry about that.
Artie
