i can always say that the Line 6 Über Metal is a killer pedal for all kinds of metal.It's very veritaille and imo has great tone.

The Rocktron Rampage was also a great pedal, but I don´t know if they still make them...

MXR Double Shot Distortion is a pretty cool pedal.

Try Hughes and Kettner Warp Factor for the modern metall.

G2D morpheus is pretty nuts, go to there site and check em' out.

i like the Metal zone, the uber metal from Line6, you should try to find a Zoom pedal the TRI Metal TM-1 is pretty neat, i havent try it , yet...
