And don't tell me it's a Phat Cat!!
I have a p-90 set laying around and I thought it could be a good idea to set in my home made #1. I think It can fit but very closely. I'll need to file the corners of the p-90 coil and even that way may be it it won't fit...
Has anybody tried this?
I haven't tried that. But go look at the dimensions for a p-90 and then at the dimensions for a Humbucker. there IS a substatial difference. So this probably won't work out too well. But ya never know till ya try........ed
Low-Fi is right, the P-90 bobbin is wider than a humbucker bottom plate. That's why we cut off the edges on a band saw to make them fit.
Or, you could just buy a Phat Cat, because that's what it is.
You are right. It's wider than a humbucker baseplate. But there is a chance it fits along the diagonal .
Seeing as how the diagonal will be longer (wider), I don't quite see that working, either.
Yes... well, I have to think about it!
In case anybody else thinks about this...
It doesn't fit!!!!
He, he, I knew from the begining but I tried it anyway...
