I think it's amazing. Would change pots and pickups but gah I have a thing for 80's strats.....

Dude, if I had the cash, it'd be on it's way to me right now.

It would be mine. Although I don't like the Am. bridges, I know TONS of people do but I tried a couple of strats with them and I just prefer the feel of the vintage under my hand....and the look too.

I'd get the modern/vintage style bridge. They come on the Fender Custom Classics. Two point trem with vintage saddles. Of course my bridge would screwed down on the body and set flush with 5 springs.

affordable GAS isn't such a bad thing.

but, he's ass raping you on shipping. I've shipped several guitars that included insurence and it wasnt no 40 bucks.

No telling what the reserve is, but if you can pick it up for not much more than $330 it would make up for the shipping. It's a pretty sweet looking guitar.

I noticed it has locking tuners and string trees. Don't you get rid of the string trees when installing locking tuners?

Black Strat...white guard...black hot rails...

Weird but it looks familiar to me.

Janick Gers from Iron Maiden..... early to late 90's used hot rails in his black strat (a black one in the bridge and neck, stock pup in middle). Maybe that's it.

not hot rails

a JB Jrand what's so special about that axe?

I've never heard that. Why would you get rid of the string trees?

It's never weird to have GAS. Perfectly normal. For me, it would be weird to have GAS for something I could afford.

As for the string tees... they're there to create a more proper angle of break over the... something that locking tuners don't change. Even on the graduated heights (like Sperzel offers in 6 in-line), I'd still be using string tees if the headstock wasn't angled.

You would get rid of the trees for a locking nut im pretty sure.

Check out the third paragraph under the first section titled quot;Sperzel Locking Tuners and Sound Lock Tunersquot;:

from : localhost/www.specialtyguitars.com/sperzel.html
