Changing pups on Sheraton 2 seems to be a very hard deal.
Does anybody know a good an simple way to do it ?
Anyway the guitar sounds already very very well.
I wonder how it would be with two antiquity humbuckers.

There really isn't a quot;simplequot; way to do it. The only way I know of, is to pull the electronics out through the f-holes. Solder up what ya need and then stuff it all back in. Its not really quot;simplequot;, but thats pretty much the way ya gotta do it.
The up side is, If all your gonna do is replace the Pickups, and Not replace any pots, or anything. Then all you really need to pull out through the f-hole is the toggle switch. Which is Much easyer to get back into place than everything else.

Pretty much what you'de do to replace the Pickups is....
(after removing strings)

1. Remove the old pickups from they're mounting rings
2. Unscrew the nut holding the toggle switch in place, Then Slide it down inside the body, and Up and Out through the F-hole.
3. Un-solder the Old Connections from the Pickups your removeing.
4. Put new pickups into place and Slide they're hookup cables into the hole that leads to the body cavity.
5. Pull the new pickups hookup cable Out through the f-holes, and solder them Into the same spots you just unsoldered the old pickups from.
6. stick toggle switch back into f-hole, and stuff it back up into its hole in the top of the guitar. Reconnect its nut.
7. put new pickus in mounting rings, and attach to body.
8. Restring and test it out.

Its not quot;simplequot; But its Not really too hard either. Just a bit more difficult than a sg, or whatever. And more time consumeing. But Not to hard.as For how antiquitys would sound, I dunno. I've never tried them. But I've only heard good things about them, so yeah.If my instruction made no sense at all (Which they might not). I'm sorry. Haha, I'm very tired, and I suck at giveing directions. Haha.

Tie long strings to the pots and switch so it's easier to pull them back to their original locations

Somthing else you can do....tie a string on each pot shaft before ya take em out, so that when you're done soldering you can just pull on the strings to get the pots back into place.

Edit: AAGH! Beaten!

Thank you very much, it seems to be clear .

You don't have to pull the wiring throught the f-holes. There's a hole on the control (right if you're right-handed) side through the center block of your guitar in the neck pick-up pocket. Once you remove the neck pick-up you'll see it. Just pull everything through that hole to avoid messing up the finish around your f-holes. The string idea is still a good one though...

ALso, make a carboard template of where the pots and switch go. then you can solder all your parts with the right amount of wire. It makes everything neater.

Thanks Benjy, didn't know the hole was in the bridge cavity for these guitars... Guess it makes more sense to have it there anyways since it's closer to the controls...

No prob. BTW, after doing three swaps in my own, I finally just slapped on some masking tape around the F-hole and just pulled the junk out through there. I did it the quot;rightquot; way the first time, but hey, I'm lazy.

Besides, the masking tape doesn't affect the finish at all and keep everything shiny and scratch free.

Definitely easier to pull the guts out through the bridge pickup cavity. In all my years of owning semi-hollows, I've never been able to pull even one pot out through the f-holes, never mind the whole harness. The f-holes are always about 1/8quot; too small.

For those who tie the strings to pots and switches, how do you get them on there solid enough to keep them from slipping off the pot shaft when you try to pull them back into position? And then how do you remove them?
