wow....never seen a fender stock with EMGs before. trippy.
ah 25.5 scale. i was hoping it was 24.75 scale.
why is it called flat head?
its probably the body...i dont think it has a place for your body to get closer to it, like a les paul? thats just my theory
Very sweet guitar. Jim Root was playing them for a while after Vol. 3 came out, he has since switched to other Fenders and Charvels.
He's awesome like that.
Rock On!
Those guitars, while I haven't played one myself, seem to be pretty sweet. Jumbo frets and EMG's on a Tele? Right on. And I think FlatHead refers not only to the body but the knobs as well? I'm probably wrong though.
hehehe you guys are funny lol...the reason it's called a flathead is an automtive/motorcycle reference...both harley davidson and ford had very famous engines called flatheads...thus the crossed pistons 12th fret inlay and the primer color flat paint options. a light grey flathead tele is on my list of future guitars for sure!!
they also make a flathead showmaster which is nice for the strat guys.

Yes the flathead, it was the valve train configuration that was popular before the OHV became popular and way before the OHC engines became popular. Come to think of it, alot of lawn mower engines are flatheads also.
