Well, I've been surfing around trying to find a hard case for the strat I just built. I want to get something nice for it, plush interior, tolex outside, etc. but I just can't find many places besides MF, AMS, and the like to get 'em. I checked Gamp;G's website, but it's pretty bare bones. Anyone have some links I should check out?

(The first person to post a link to Ebay get's a swift kick, I'm scoping it out as well )

im partial to tweed cases. They just look so sweet, and have that dark red plush interior.....

tolex shmolex vintage tweed blah blah ...i just got one of these sexy beasts (pic below)to put my custom tele in and it's great...nice plush black velvet interior with a huge storage compartment and a sweet looking all metal outside so you can throw it down the stairs and not worry about the guitar!! i think i may have to buy more of these for my other guitars!! this and my coffin (darkline flight) are the best cases i've used when it comes to looks and strength to protect the guitar (and i have had tons of cases!) ...ask wattage what his coffin flight case went through on a flight to FLA and how perfect his LP was when it got there and got home!!
oh and if your not a fan of the coffin shape or the iron crosses coffin also makes a square flight case that is also good looking/plush and strong...

Link??

EDIT: Nevermind, I see you said it's Coffin Cases, I didn't catch the brand mention at first. I'll look into it, thanks .

here is the coffin case site from : localhost/got my iron cross one off ebay...i went with the universal inside (not strat cut) so i could fit other guitars in it..but it still holds my tele firm in place since the foam/velvet combo is nice and thick.

if you like the other flight case style better (bottom pic) it model CC-225 but i'm not sure what online dealers have that one listed, never searched for it...any coffin dealers can order it though. the place i got mine from on ebay is fatcatmu$ic (that's his ebay name) and they are a coffin dealer so they can get them all.

be warned though they aren't cheap cases nor are the prices cheap at all but they sure are good looking and TANKS!!

Thanks, I dug up the model number and I'm looking around now. I was planning on spending some green to get a nice case, so that's no biggie. Any other recommendations are welcome, I'm just shoppin' guys .

I've used the molded SBK case for my custom strats - the good model that's like Fenders cases before they started using made in China ones

Callaham sells G amp; G tweed cases - and tolex as well - for a pretty decent price

Ah I forgot about Callaham

I've got a plain jane white coffin case it looks cool and keeps my Ibanez well secured. However, I would get one of their flight cases for touring. I see Xssive already posted the site.

from : localhost/I'll have them make a case for my Grandfather's mandolin.

EDIT: D'oh! I found 'em. My bad

I'm gonna go against the grain and say gig bag. I splurged and got one of these for my homemade Tele, and it's a beauty: from : localhost/69.28.198.16/Levys_2005_Strap...Bags_pg78.html
They are so much easier to deal with anytime you're taking the guitar out of the house too. Unless you are going to seriously jeopardize the instrument (like throw it down the stairs a few times), I think a good bag will give plenty of protection.

I've looked into nice gig bags, but the problem there is when I take my guitars to gigs they get stacked on top of one another. If they're in hard cases, I can stack them all in the backseat of my truck and stack my pedalboard on top of that, etc. I hadn't seen those bags though, VERY sweet, how much did you give for yours?

The G amp; G cases Callaham sells are very nice, plus you can get them in blond and brown...my next case is comming from there unless I just go for the black molded!

I've always been a Hiscox cases fan...

Generally if the bags are well padded, you can stack 'em with no problems. I can't remember how much I paid for the bag, but I think it was around $175. I knew the guy running Manny's Music, so I got a bit of a deal. It's super high quality, very thick padding and tough leather, and the one I got is made just for a Telecaster. I also got another Levy's gig bag made of cloth, but it's also extremely well padded and high quality.

Here's another vote for coffin cases. I have a few of them myself and they are great cases. They also make cases under the name quot;case corequot;. Do a search on MF for these. They come with a cool diamond plate pattern on the outside and has a universal fit on the inside. It holds strats, LP, and SG's very snugly and securely. For 2005, they also offer this case with a skull and crossbones pattern. These cases should be under $129 on MF...

The coffin case darkline series is really good too. they make ones to custom fit a strat guitar and are REALLY nice. I have one for my LP, and its great...

Sorry I couldn't resist. I'm still a little kid that finds stuff like that funny.
