I have been playing electric less since ive had to store my axe in its case. Since its an explorer i dont think a normal stand will hold it up. I have wall hangers at my home in london, but here i cannot drill holes into the walls.
Are there any stands that you know will hold an explorer? I want to be able to pick up my guitar!
Cheers
I have a hanging stand made by the Ultra company, I bought it when I primarily played a Flying V. It sits on the floor like any other stand, but the guitar susspends from it's headstock and the back rests against some rests that attach to the stand.
I believe something like this would work for ya.
Rock On
What Kac said. That's precisely the sort of stand I used for a Samick Rockwell, which is pretty close to an Explorer in shape and size.
ok, just trying to find any places that sell those types of stands. Thanks for your help Kac and St Genesius.

Another cool thing about these is that they fold up to a relatively compact unit--handy when you're taking it out and about.
Cheers for that, but im lookin in the UK. Im guessing my usual guitar shop will have them in stock. Cheers for all your help!
i think an 'Ultimate' brand standalone guitar stand would hold an Explorer quite securely, as it has a press-in locking mechanism to hold the neck in place. The guitar would be in a weird looking position though, but at least it would be secure. It's quite a commonly available stand.

one of these will do fine
i have 2 explorer-shaped guitars (one explorer, one esp) and those are what i use
EX-250, just wondering, how does the bottom of your explorers sit on the bottom 2 prongs? Im guessing all is secure right? Just wondering since the bottom edge of the explorer is at an angle sorta. Cheers
I saw a photo of EVH's Ibanez Destroyer, and he turned the bottom quot;forkquot; of the stand upsidedown to add a few inches of clearance. I think the Explorer is a similar body style, so you may be able to get away with using a standard stand to hold your axe.
i have an ibanez destroyer...similar explorer shape and all i did was use a regular stand as pictured above and bend one of the holding legs down a bit and it sit perfect in it.

These are perfect for Explorers. The bottom cradle tilts to match the angle of the guitar.
Wall hanger
I use the three guitar version, but this'll do what you're after.

Cheers for your help everyone I've found those Hercules stands around for ok money online. Ill just go into a shop and see what they have. Thanks alot again guys, i know its not the most pressing matter for a guitarist to deal with, but im so lazy to get my electric out of its case all the time! Zerb, i would love to use wall hangers, but in my hall im not allowed to drill holes, and i dont think the walls would hold either
Makes me think of a mate who got w@nkered for his 21st, back at his place he fell forward and his head went through the wall, where on the other side a couple where doing something in bed
Ups, missed the quot;no holesquot; part, my bad
