my favorite person Mr. UPS Man just dropped off the new animal!! Engl powerball head, splawn 4x12 cab and engl z-5 footswitch...now i am in tone heaven in my basement den....this rocks! i'll do a review on the head later but so far.. i'm lovin' it but have only played it a bit with 3 guitars so i can't give a full review as of now but no real complaints so far...man this thing has lots of buttons and knobs lol.

oh and i just realized the rack is filled with all fenders lol...everything else is in its case waiting to get a shot at the PB...

now all i need is a Diezel Herbert and a Mesa Dual Recto and i'll be 100% happy with amps i think...note i said quot;thinkquot; haha...oh wait then there's the Bogner i've been gassing over also...see, it just never stops ahhhhhh

Awsome stuff Mike....I wish I could have been at Splawn to check it out before it left. I talked to Scott today for a while, and told him that one of my buddies just ordered an Engl Head and Splawn Cab from him and he said, quot;Oh yeah, Mike in NY...right?

Tell me, how does the Splawn cab sound compared to a Marshall cab, or other similar 4x12? Maybe you could plug the Engl into a couple different cabs. I'd love to have a Splawn Cab, but I like the angled stuff better.

Enjoy the stuff, and be thankfull you ordered yours when you did. Scott told me today that he is not taking any new work right now because he is so busy, and filled with orders.

Jackson...i'd sell that marshall in a hearbeat if i could, i never touch it but it was given to me by my brother and was my first amp so i'd feel bad selling it...i may just have splawn or voodoo mod it into a monster though...not sure yet.

Jeff...the splawn blows away my marshall cab (hidden in pic behind the chair) it's got more low end by far and is still nice and tight not overly boomy like a recto cab, it's a nice sound that i would say is kinda b/t a mesa cab and a marshall cab if you wanted to compair it to other typical know cabs. thick and full like a mesa but more tight and refined like a marshall....best of both worlds IMO since i find marshall cabs to lack low end and mesa cabs to lack that tight ariculate definition. Scott sure knows his sh!t, this is just want i wanted.

too bad he's so busy i was thinking as i mentioned above about talking to him about modding my marshall into a high gain monster...either him or voodoo, i can't decide who or if i want to do it.

Mike....thanks for the review on the cab. I was afraid you were going to say that. I will have to get one someday, to complete the full stack that I don't need!

As for the mods, I would have either Scott or Jeff Seal do them. I've heard great things about Trace at Voodo, but I have a Jeff Seal mod, and it really is the schnizel. As for Scott, if his mods are half as good as his own amp design's...look out.

it's a monster for sure DSS!!!oh and mnbaseball...the peavey is an ultra plus 120w (6l6 tubes) and i will NEVER let that go, it's a tone monster and i love it....i just tried it through the splawn cab and HOLY CRAP...that's all it needed to be even better than before!

ROFLMAO Jeff...smoke on the water lol...i haven't played that in god knows how long...time to go crank the engl for some smoke and perhaps some iron man hehehe!!! you will not be sorry if you buy a splawn with Scott's favorite speaker setup (eminence)...this is hands down THE BEST cab i have ever tried (and i have tried quite a few) and i want another one now lol. it's just an amazing animal and made all my heads sound better than they ever did!!

RGN...the yellow strat i have had for a few years now it's a real fender not a warmoth, i just put a warmoth guard on it and new pickups in it today...that's the 4th guard and 6th set of pickups for that guitar and i think i got it right this time lol.

however i did get another guitar today i didn't post about in a trade lol...today was gear day for me!
