I am wondering if this would be possible....
I have a Fender M-80 120 watt (2X60 watt stereo) head
and a Fender FM212 100 watt combo amp.
What I'm wondering is can I wire this up so that the head unit runs the speakers in the combo amp.
If this is possible I would like to know how to do it.
Thanks - Kac

PS the reason I want to do this is my 4X12 cab will not fit in my car - no matter how hard I try.

It's a piece of cake. Simply find where your speakers are plugged in on your combo and put them to the proper ohm on the back of your amp head. Make sure the impedances match and don't turn your amp head on a high volume setting and you'll be ok. The reason I recommend keeping the volume lower is because if it's too high, it will put out the full 120w and your speakers (which only can withstand 100w... I'm assuming) will blow.

ok, all you need to do is-buy a decent speaker cable that has the crimping connectors for speakers. Go on ebay and buy one for really really cheap. Your speakers area already wired in parallel so just connect to one of the speakers and -.

A new speaker cable may not even be necessary in this situation. The crimp is connected to the speakers, but there is a 1/4'' plug that goes into the amp that can be taken out and put into the amp head (as long as the cord is long enough, that'll be the only thing).

Kool. I will check it out.

You should just sell the combo for as much as you can get, then buy a cabinet like a Mesa or Avatar, or something. You could rig it up from head to combo, but you may as well sell the whole shebang, and get what you really want.

what I really want is a van so I can bring my 4X12 cabnet where-ever I want. I really like my M-80 Half Stack, so the 2X12 is just an attemp to keep that sound, but not have some much to move around.

i'd say just go ahead and do what you want to do. Reason being is that you have a back up built into you're quot;cabquot;
