I installed the single coils in my strat, and i followed the diagram, easy job. Black to grounds and white to selector. Now, every position works, but when I switch it to the neck spot, it seems to be humcancelling and it sounds almost identical to the bridge position. I know something is not right. When I select the neck pickup, I can control the tone with the tone control and the same is true for the bridge pickup, but all the positions are humming. Would bad wiring to the ground cause this? Becuase I know the soldering to the selector is perfect, but could this be caused by bad soldering to the back of the volume knob? HELP!
I would check the selector to ground, bottom of the pot to ground, and make sure that solder didn't get in the switch, or between poles. You might also want to checkthe pot and make sure it's not melted, or there was a solder run.
