Another clip of Rid's awesome pedal. This thing is soooo much fun!

I pulled out the Les Paul (Faded Std, BB pros) for this, and you can tell..nothing sounds like a Paula

Plexitonegt;Rivera's Bassman mode. Volume damn low. Everything but the last quot;piecequot; is the crunch channel. The Solo from Still In Love With You is the high gain mode (and I cheated, it's Gary's 1984 version, not Robbos..oh well).

Crappy Laptop and some crappy playing too ..I was getting alot of extraneous noise cos I've gotten so used to the way the Hamer plays.

Lizzy

Great, timeless Lizzy riffs! Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Hehe I can almost remember the fridays and saturdays...illegal mopeds and dirtbikes
Hearing loud rock'n'roll, cool return to the days long gone now...sigh youth hehe.

god I missed that one note bad at the beginning of cowboy song...I tried to recover with the bend up to the proper note..quite unsucessfully...

Such a fun pedal to play through...especially with the Paula...classic rock defined.

Sweet! Lizzy are my teacher's favourite band, and lots of that passed on to me. Nice clips, that's a rockin' little pedal, there. Nice playing on some great riffage.

Thanks folks...

It may not translate as well in the recording...just cos its a crap mic...but in person I def prefer the Paula for tone..but I always have...and I like the BB's better than the 59s..BBs are more raw, not so sweet...through the Pod Atomic, the difference is huge tonewise....well maybe not huge...but very noticeable...may throw up a clip of that soon.

Nice growl. Cool.

Nice tone. It's been a while since I heard the LP. I do prefer the Hamer though. It's just got this fatness to it that is pure sweetness. But, I can hear the quot;opennessquot; of the BB's more in these clips than others.

It must be the recording differences (I can't always get my laptop and it's built in speaker in the same exact spot, and I fiddle with the settings on the amp all the time too..)

....cos the Paula is def the fatter/bigger sounding axe in person...very noticeable difference... The Hamer is right inbetween the Paula and the Firebird.

I just listened to your 666 clip again and I LOVE that tone. And the VOC Intro too. That's freakin' awesome.

I did get it.

Looking forward to hearing the Paula do some Priest. Do you take requests? How about Devi's Child or Delivering the Goods. Now that is some great tone they have on those songs. I've been listening to the Metal Works CD's a lot lately.

Nice playing Jeff...I Love Thin Lizzy and I own a ton of their stuff....Cowboy Song was and still is one of my fav Thin Lizzy tunes!

The tone is a tad dark on my computer, but the whole Marshall vibe you nailed..Wish I had your motivation to sit down and record, but the Plexitone pedal is a great pedal...Thanks to you and your clips brother..

Heh....well..honest I was never a huge JP fan...VOC is the ONLY song I know...I've never even heard of those other two songs...I was always a Maiden guy (member way back when metal kids used to fight over the JP vs IM thing?, LMAO)

I'll do Beast for sure...so it's kind of an A/B

John,

Thanks bro!

As I mentioned above...no two recordings of mine will ever sound the same unfortunately cos of the crappy way I have to record things ...but some other reasons as to why it may sound darker are:

I used diff amp settings compared to the last clip.

I had the volume about half as much as the last PT clip.

The Hamer is def a brighter instrument....and then there is the added brightness of the 59s in it.

In general the Paula is quot;biggerquot;, warmer, and is thicker/more complex sounding but doesn't have as much note clarity as the Hamer....partly pickups...partly the stock Gibson pots, I suppose?

For someone who wasn't much of a JP fan, you sure nail their early tone really really well. So well it's scary sometimes. Their early tone is that raw cranked Marshall JMP tone. Awesome stuff. I do remember the Priest vs. Maiden thing. Where I grew up it was more British Metal vs. American Metal. I'll have to cut a few clips so you can hear some of it.

It's fine though Jeff and only what I heard as far as the tone, but the overall sound you get is a really cool ole Marshall tone for sure! I Love this pedal and it's very inspiring...I Plug in with minimal adjustment and get great tone regardless of guitar straight into my 73 50 watt 1987 head....Sounded great through my Vox head the other night also..

Cool...I actually have only ever bought one JP album..Unleashed in the East...love that album..never cared much for their later stuff. UitE is CLASSIC 70s metal tone for sure..and a tone I prefer.John, what amp model didya run the plexitone through on your VOX?

Nice Lizzy-ing there bro That is definitely the plexitone tone.. I am becoming quite familiar with it, spending a bit of time with mine

Thanks for the cool rockin clip..

Really nice tone, RID one hell of a pedal! Love every clip I have heard!
