I am offering my 2004 Highway 1 Telecaster for sale or trade. I will start off by saying that even though it's less than 6 months old, it doesn't look it. I have been asked if it is an actual 1950's vintage Tele. Well, that's when I'm in the clubs and it's dark and smokey. It has been quot;playedquot; and not handled with kid gloves. I have played the heck out of it but taken very good care of it. It just looks 30 years old because of the fragile lacquer finish. It's honey blonde with a maple fretboard; which, BTW, is not stock. I traded the original neck for a MIM 50's Classic Tele neck. The original neck was an American Series neck without the rolled fingerboard edges on the frets and modern 9.5quot; radius. The fets were medium-jumbo and it came with the standard quot;pingquot; tuners. The neck I have on it is vintage style with a 7.25quot; radius and vintage style frets. The tuners are vintage type as well. I really like the neck on this one (the new neck that is). It has the 3-saddle ashtray bridge. Stock, it has a w/b/w 8-hole pickguard. I will include any of the following extras as well:
1. Black pickguard routed for Strat neck pickup.
2. Black pickguard routed for mini-humbucker neck pickup.
3. Black pickguard routed for mini-humbucker neck pickup and Strat middle pickup.
4. Tortoise shell pickguard routed for Tele neck pickup and Strat middle pickup.
The way I currently have it set up is with a Gibson mini-humbucker in the neck position (pickguard #2) and a Duncan Vintage Stack in the bridge position with a standard 3-way switch. For selling or trade purposes, I can sell or trade all the pickguards or set it up with any of the configurations listed. I'll include the gigbag and keep the straplocks on it too.
I am looking to get around $500 selling it. I don't have any pics yet; but if anyone's interested, I'll get them together.
im definitely interested. pics would help.

I'll get them together tonight. Are you interested in buying or trading?
Bump....
I'll have some pics uploaded today.
Well, I'm having real problems with the digital camera. Our old one is gone and we're using my daughter's. It connects to the PC via a USB adapter which is a small end. The PC's USB port isn't the same size. I'll either have to find a way to make them connect or get a friend's camera. Either way, no pics for now...

I got the pics and they'll be uploaded tonight...
Here are the pics...
Butch, very cool! I have been looking for a cool new Tele for a while - but a beater, modded one would be even better!
Few questions - can a P90 fit in the same opening as the mini-humbucker or would I need to modify? How does the min balence with the bridge - nice sound whne switch is in the middle position? Do you have a case or a gig bag for it? Still looking for $500? Do you accept PayPal? Thanks man!

Less than 6 mos. old? Did you drag it behind a truck? I dig the worn look, looks broken in well.

Yes, PayPal would be fine... As far as a P-90, it'll fit in the guitar's route, but you'd have to get another pickguard. The pickguard that's on it fits a minibucker without the plastic surround ring. The minibucker balances very nicely with the bridge pickup.
I may be down if this dano guy doesn't take it. It'd make a good father's day present, eh?
That looks wicked.

Just kidding... Another thing is that I painted it an antique white with the sole purpose of letting the paint dry and scraping it off with a putty knife. I got that idea from a friend of mine who quot;distressesquot; guitars for people. I scraped and it took off just enough of the honey blonde to make it look cool. Also, some of the white didn't come off. That just added to the character. Make no mistake though. This thing is a real player.
reminds me of this '73:I call it the 'toasted marshmallow' finish
Looks badass!
Well, I got a lot of players giveing a lot of compliments. Anyone gonna bite?

That's odd, here's my 2004 Hwy 1 Tele under the pickguard and it's only routed for a single.

Mine looked liked yours when I first bought it. Then I put it on my workbench and my Dad and I (he likes to do this stuff) gave it a nice universal (swimming pool) route. I do that with all my Telecasters if they don't alreay come that way.
Well, Dan-ola had 1st dibs. He went and spent a bunch of money on his wife for her b-day. What nerve..... Just kidding Dan-ola. I would have done the same thing.
So, whoever had 2nd dibs (Rushofblood maybe)....Here it is...
