Anyone have clips of themselves rocking on an SG? Please point me to links or downloads, especially if you're playing through a Marshall or Peavey Classic.
Thanks!
on R is SG with BL500XL into a homebrewed 2204 style amp and 1960 slant cab with V30's, close mic'd with condenser for rhythm, and I think it was an SM57 for leads. Gtr on L is an Edwards LP with nickel covered HB's, probably a JB and 59. Bonus points for guessing the amp.
Solos with SG are on Cheaper (with SD-1) and solos 2 and 4 on Right Wing Radio (with dimed single-ended amp with 2204 style preamp).
Sounds awesome...the intro riff to Cheaper is classic Iommi!!

Just listen to your favorite AC/DC album... you had to know that SOMEONE would tell you this.
Have fun,
Dennis
SG's thru Peavey Classic amps sound great.....
Gibson website has some clips in the d'load section.
And yeah...SG/Marshall.....Angus Young....Frank Hannon from Tesla........Cream Era Clapton....Iommi....I never understand folks who say SG's sound quot;thinquot;...perhaps they got a bum piece of wood, cos the previously mentioned guys all had/have extremely big/fat tone...and the one I owned briefly was quot;bigquot; too...just didn't care for the neck joint/neck diving.

Yeah, I never got this quot;SG is thinquot; thing either. It's not as fat as an LP, but listen to Clapton's tone on the quot;Live at the Grande Ballroomquot; Cream bootleg and he defines fatness! That's what I'm trying to dial in...
As for just listening to AC/DC tunes, it only goes so far. I can't distinguish Angus from Malcolm during all of the rythym parts.
Click on the link in my signature. The 6th song down is a SG Jr. with P-90's in it. It's a pretty rockin song.
Damn, that's heavy as hell. I can't believe that's a P90 driven SG. What kind of amp/effects were you playing through? Do you have any clips soloing with that SG?

I was playing through a Line6 AX2/212. I was using a modeled JCM-800/tubescreramer combo. I actually didn't even have that much distortion on it either. Sorry, I don't have any clips of it soloing.
