Hello all I got a Gibson SG Special, now it was not supposed to be a faded special, just a special but you can feel the grain on the body and the neck, the guitar is black, and i did not even know you could get the faded special in black, ANY IDEAS?

I mean it is an 05, it is a Made In USA but it is just odd that the body has that almost faded feel, you can feel/see the woodgrain in places and I am really just wondering if the Special is like that or this is just a weird guitar.

According to Gibson's site, the SG Special Faded comes only in Worn Cherry and Worn Brown. The SG Special comes in Platinum, Ebony and Wine Red. Take it back to where you got it and show them your concern.

I know they made some sort of satin finished SG recently. I forget exactly what it is called. I think that is what you have.

He made me a real good deal on it, I played it about 4 hours today and am pretty happy with it.
