Hi guys!

I'm looking for a cheap, good quality 1x12quot; cab, could you reccomend any? It has to be moderately cheap, sturdy, and sound good. Keep in mind that i can't get Avatar cabs, and eveyrthing is expensive as hell here.

I can't write more, since i'm not allowed to use the PC .

Anyway, thanks alot. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I've heard good things about the 1X12quot; cab that Crate released and advertises with the new powerblock... never tried one, just heard good things.

Rock On

No crates, please

rock on!

No offense, my friend

Anyway.... i need to find a way, so i can get a couple of those Avatar G112's.... any ideas?

ENGL makes good 112s.

I would arrange for a SD member that you know well to purchase those avatar cabs for you and ship them to you that sounds like the best solution to me.

Maybe the marshall 1x12. Its seems pretty good and I think when I was researching to get one I found a few around $100 on ebay.

BUILD ONE!
that is only if you have the right tools and some woodworking experience/ know someone who does. this would be your cheapest way and you would get exactly what you wanted.

Well....

A marshall 1x12quot; cab is about $700USD here, and therefore too expensive.

If i got a fellow SD member to ship me a Avatar, i'd have to pay 2-300 dollars (and maybe more) for taxes and shipping. Also, it could get smashed or lost in the mail, etc.

Bulid one... well, first of all, i'm not good at it, and i just smashed my previous cab buliding to pieces (VERY frustrating). And also, i can't get any other materials than spruce and particle board...

Thanks anyway, guys!

Marshall MG100DFX... I bought the MG412 combo to use as an extension and it works great.. plus I can jus take the combo to practice gigs withough hauling a full half stack.. the MG100DFX sounds great with les paul style guitars.. the effects sound good too

ha ha.. did you say cab???.. my bad.. I've played the crate 1X12 cab with a powerblock and it sounds good with clean.. don't know about distortoin cuz the powerblock doesn't do heavy distortion.. jus overdriven clean tones

NO Marshall MG's for me... please

Well, i'm just interested in getting a pair of the best, cheapest 1x12quot; cabs possible, and use them with my rig. I already have a transportable combo amp, a 1980's Marshall JCM800 1x12quot; combo

Thanks!

And by the way... sorry if i misunderstood you, but just because i'm just 15, doesn't mean that i need quot;heavy distortionquot;.

I HATE nu-metal, punk, and super-heavy scooped tones. Give me a nice, moderately overdriven Laney GH50 anyway

Cheers!

*bump*

How about one of these unloaded cabs and then you put the speaker of your choice into it?

Umm, the Crate 1x12quot; that's usually seen with the powerblock (or so I have) has a Celestion 100-80 or whatever that thing is in it.

To be specific, most manufacturers use POS plywood anyway, the only difference is the name on the front.

those unloaded cabs are awesome. i really want that tweed ox cab itll match my carvin perfectly and i could put a vintage 30 in it. thats so cool. i would reccomend that to u erlend, than you can get whatever speaker you decided is best.

yes.. you misunderstood me.. I merely meant to say that the powerblock doesn't have a distortion channel

First off, don't knock Crate just because of the name. Yeah, Crate had a bad reputation at first and noone took them seriously but their cabs are built solid. Their V Series amps are very good. Their gear has gotten better. What really is going to make a difference in the cab is the speakers loaded in it. It doesn't matter if it's a Marshall, Crate, Jackson or any other brand. Crap speakers = crap sound. See if you find a used cabinet cheap somewhere and replace the speaker. The Eminence Red Coat and Patriot are damn good sounding speakers for smooth overdriven tones.
