anyone else think this will sound cool, a fender strat cut to hold 3 humbuckers, with a tb-11 in the bridge, an emg 81 in the middle, and a alnico pro 2 in the neck with the split option, 3 volume pots, (one for each pup) and a 3 way selector (similar to the 3 humbucker sg) the emg will be wound in and out through the volume knob, the middle setting on the 3 way will be all 3 pups or whatever is turned up on the volume! the other two will be bridge and middle, and neck and middle, so the middle setting on the 3 way switch could have neck and bridge or all 3 or whatever! lol you think i should do it? i have been debating it for a while, i've got the strat and everything customised, just need the pups, maybe an active and two passives is not such a good idea? let me know what you think, cheers!

in the 70's Univox sold a Strat clone with 3 fullsize buckers...the bridge wa even tilted!

I played one once, it was kind of cool, but not very Stratty at all...

na im not really looking for the usual quot;stratquot; look and tone, i've always hated single coil pickups, (well bridge pickups at least) i dunno y! lol i've always been a gibson man myself, and loved the humbucking sound of them, so i thought i'd improove a strat to my specifications! lol

i wouldn't suggest using actives with passives. actually through my recent tone epiphany, i cant really suggest actives at all

I beleive there was a board member who name was Triple Fat Strat. I think he had a strat with 3 Invader Pups. Now that is hardcore. Also, what kind of music will you be playing with this guitar? What amp, ect.I've always thought that it would be cool to use three concentric pots with that set up. So that each pup has its own tone and volume. But that would be a huge mess to wire

And I don't know personally, but the concensus seems to be either active or passive. I've heard they don't mix well.
