I wanted to show you guys pictures of two of my favorite amps and guitars in my collection but I couldn't get the photos to download for some reason.

So I'm providing an Ebay link with photos of my '51 Super, '54 Telecaster and '59 Bassman in the listing.

Don't drool now!

See? I really do have some of the cool things I've mentioned over the years...

Lew...Im tellin you...I have wanted that Super for as long as I have been on this forum but seeing it the other day made it that much worse!

Let me ask you something...how does that CS 53 compare to a real deal 54?

Let me ask you something...how does that CS 53 compare to a real deal 54?Honestly: I like it every bit as much. It's a little lighter than my '54 Tele and is the equal in every way except $$$. But I just don't play it as often as it deserves to be played. My '54 has been my main Tele for so long that when I'm in a Tele mood it's the one that gets played. I think the '53 Custom Shop Tele with the Duncan Antiquity I's is maybe a little bit chimier...

Lew

Man, you're selling a lot of nice stuff. Is it all your collection or is it part of your business? (I honestly can't believe you are selling the Bassman... I wish I had the cash to pick it up off of a forum brother)

It's all stuff from my collection. I have way to many guitars and amps and I need some $$$ to complete the remodel on my home up in the mountains in Nederland, Colorado. The truth about the Bassman is that great as it is, I prefer some of my other amps. I've owned three old Bassmans and eventually I've sold them all! They're really bassy! (After all: they are a Bassman! ) And the glassy highs sound a little hard to me after a while. Cranked they're killer...but with no master volume control I usually just can't crank them up loud enough to get the tone I'm after. I prefer my 20 watt Fender Deluxes, my '51 Super and my Matchless SC-30 and Chieftan.

Lew,
the December Vintage Guitar has an article on the earliest Teles/ Broadcasters/ Nocasters/ Esquires, with great pics

some surprises: they varied a lot in weight, from less than 6 to 8.6 lbs
several had 9.5quot; radiused necks
the necks varies a lot in thickness and taper
there's an Esquire with a pickup that measures 8.49K - I think this is probably something we've wondered about on the forum, but the first time I've seen it documented

good luck with you sale

Lew, that is quite a slew of gear your peddlin'! Those Matchless amps must be smokin if you're selling all the others. I'd love to have a little blackface DR at some point. What a great amp.

(Clean out your PMs, Lew. )

Too cool.

I just looked at his list of Ebay items for sale, and his 59 Bassman is already hittin well over 3K, and it still has time left. And that's just one high ticket item!
