I'd say to keep it as rational and simple as you possibly can. I don't believe that anyone needs more than a 50watt halfstack, 3-4 pedals, 3-4 guitars, and maybe a practice amp or POD.
Do you think you could get down to one strat, one LP, one amp, and a couple pedals? I know I could. Much more cost effective, and you'll learn to appreciate all the different tones you can get out of just your fingers.

Well yeah, I'm going to use stock reverb from now on and I don't absolutely need a chorus pedal. I'm going to sell my current head I think.
in all reality, id have 3 guitars, 1 pracitce 15w amp and a 50 watter for preforming, no efx cuz i dont need em, and a PXR4 (pandora with a digital recorder)
What is it about the 80's MIA Strats that interest you? By most accounts, they weren't so great back then, until CBS sold the company in 1987.

I have a 1989 strat body that I have a 2005 neck on and I just love it. I don't want to mess with other years or anything, as mine has a swimming pool route. I'm going to try to track down as many late 80's strats as I can and just change the necks.
black and sunburst strats... I'll never understand the fixation.
Why have that when you can have seafoam!!!
