Hi guys
i'm currently making my own electric guitar and i need some advice/help with choosing my pick-ups. I'm searching for two double coil humbuckers and i think i've decided on the Alnico ll Pro for the bridge but i want something cleaner and smoother for the neck.
My guitar is (being) made from rock maple for the body and brazilian mahogany for the neck.
Any help is appreciated
Cheers
Ric
welcome to the forum!!
the alnico II pro is pretty smooth and clean, not sure what to suggest. maybe a seth lover?
gibson scale length?
oh right. thanks.
i guess then it might be a good idea to go for something a little harsher with a higher output for the bridge and put the alnico ll at the neck.

you cant get much clear and smoother than the alnico 2 in the neck, but i've yet to try the antiquities.
maybe youd like a 59 in the bridge. many people here on the forum said it gives a nice early EVH sound.
The alnico II pro is a great choice for the bridge and the neck. It is plenty smooth for the neck position and it is clean for a neck humbucker. You should not need something quot;higher outputquot; in the bridge unless you may be a gainiac or you dont have a good amp to get its own decent amout of distortion. The Alnico II pro set is a great choice. If you want even cleaner, you would have to probally go with a single coil. LOL! Maybe a Phat Cat in the neck might be a good choice also?????
If you do want a little higher output in the bridge but still want more of a classic tone, the custom is a great choice!
Seymour himself reccomended a '59. i guess you're both on the same wavelength!!
