Really been thinking about a new amp. Although I don't want a head/cab setup, I really am hot after the Univalve. The design is innovative and the soundclips are fun, but can this be the one amp that has everything you need?
Can I get my smooth Fender cleans with a 6L6, and killer distortion w/a KT-66?
Or should I get a Maz 18 and call it a day.

I have a univalve (#123 to be exact). Got it about 4 yrs ago. It is versatile. Get it, you won't be sorry. I talked to the owner on the phone one day for about an hour. I had a simple question. Awesome service, and amp. The only complaint I have is that the built-in hot plate is not as good as the stand alone, so I use a Weber mini-mass. It can do fender cleans, vox, marshall, except for boogie stuff. I use the triaxis through the univalve if needed. It doesn't have an fx loop if you are used to it. I basically use it as a preamp (but drive the output tubes) into another power amp. In a band situation I suggest you mic it. Highly recommend.

Is the THD Univalve as versatile as it appears?
